Keith Schnell's Dune Buggy

Keith Schnell's Dune Buggy

My story is long but I think it is cool. My Dad did a building inspection for a friend that bought a warehouse site unseen at an auction. When they went to inspect the building there was a dune buggy body hanging in the warehouse. My dad's friend asked if he wanted it and he said yes. He came home and told me we were going to build a dune buggy, this was 1974. He bought a JC Whitney book and we started building it. I took my drivers license test in the dune buggy in 1975. I had it it repainted in 1980 and the interior upholstered. Russ Topp built the engine that's in today.

I love it. The interior, ah heck, it’s all great.
